But the fall flowers in this section are the best of the best as they will give your garden a unique look and inject it with the vibrant colors of fall before the grayness of winter sets in. These autumn flowers not only look amazing but are also hardy plants that can withstand colder weather.

Globe Amaranth

Amaranth produces beautifully bright purple garden flowers each fall that results in truly pretty arrangements. The cool thing with these fall flowers is that come November, you can dry them out and have some beautiful floral decor for your fall-styled home. This October flower prefers sun, but does well even in part shade, making it pretty versatile as well.

Sumac

These huge flowers for your garden need lots of room because they can grow to be up to thirty feet tall. Sumac is also a very diverse fall flower to plant as it comes in many different varieties, giving you the luxury of choice. To find the best sumac variety for sprucing up your fall garden, it is good to be aware that some types of sumac cause rashes, so we recommend avoiding these varieties. Sumac is a great example of a hardy autumn plant because it puts up with drought well and still produces a stunning scarlet or crimson color.

Mora

This is a type of Chrysanthemum and it is the ultimate November flower that has become quite trendy lately. All the chrysanthemum types will adorn your lawn with rich colors perfect for offsetting the grayness of fall. Also known as the Dixie rosemallow, the Hibiscus Mutabilis is a beautiful autumn flower that adds character and class to any garden. This flower is produced by a shrub and changes from white, to pink, and then to a deep rose as the flower gets older. This unique property makes for a garden flower overflowing with fall colors.

Pansies

Pansies might not seem like the best fall flowers as common pansies tend to turn into mush with the first fall freeze. However, “Plentifall” pansies, as the name suggests, don’t have this problem and bloom from fall through spring. These colorful autumn flowers survive below-zero degrees with ease and look good while they do it.

Turtlehead

For those who want to have a fall garden flower that stands out from the rest, the turtlehead is the pointy two-lipped flower for you. These flowers resemble the head of a turtle in their shape, hence their unusual name. Turtleheads, like many wildflower variants, are also famously hardy fall flower plants that are low maintenance and don't need much sun.
